[October 18]
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in Spirit and in truth. John 4:24
WE DO well to keep continually in mind the thought that God, with whom we have to do, is a Spirit being of unlimited power; that he can read the very thoughts and intents of our hearts and that any worship or service that we could render, that he could accept, must be honest-hearted—rendered in Spirit and in truth. He seeketh only such to worship him, and of this class there are but a few at the present time. After the Covenant of Grace shall have gathered out all the household of faith, the royal priesthood, and the great company of antitypical Levites, then, as a means of extending God's favor, the New Covenant will witness the thousands of the world coerced to righteousness—that all may be enabled to see, to experience the love of God and the blessings of righteousness, to the intent that all who will may come into heart harmony with him and proportionately experience restitution, the rewriting of the divine law in the very character, the very being. Yet in the end, even with the world, only such as worship God in Spirit and in truth will be finally approved and be granted life eternal beyond the millennial age. Z'09-173 R4410:6 (Hymn 65)
